Students and I have been monitoring tick populations on small mammals and ticks off-host since 2006.  These two data sets are used by students to ask questions about what drives the number of ticks collected.  Currently we are  developing statistical models to describe the environmental variables that affect the number of ticks.  Students present their work at local and national conferences.  Students have published their work in peer-reviewed journals.
